I love tackling big projects around my home. In early 2025, I decided that rather than pay someone to install solar on my rooftop, I would just do it all myself - everything from design to permitting to full install. It would be my Everest of DIY projects and I was excited to tackle it. A lot of studying, youtube videos, and a little over a hundred hours of work later, I was ecstatic to turn my new DIY masterpiece on and enjoy the fruits of my labors.

Within 3 weeks, I started hearing the tell-tale cooing above my bedroom ceiling. Then I started finding messes of bird droppings and branches not so mysteriously showing up along the base of my home. It didn’t take long to figure out what was going on.

The pigeons had already taken up residence under my brand new solar system. Little did they know I’ve been in the pest control industry for 16 years and knew exactly how to evict them. After pest proofing my own solar system, I decided to start my own company to help other homeowners protect their solar investments from the mess and hassle birds can cause their systems.

What is bird-proofing for solar panels?

Bird-proofing is a method of installing a galvanized mesh "skirting" around all solar panel edging. This mesh prevents birds from nesting under solar panels, protecting your investment and maintaining efficiency.

How do you clean nests and bird messes already under the panels?

Birds can create extensive messes on roofs, especially under your solar panels. We use a combination of vacuums and pressure washers to safely remove the nests and droppings from beneath the solar panels. This can be a messy job, but we use tarps and other meshed materials on the ground level to help catch droppings cleaned from the roof. We utilize disinfectants to eliminate the smells and dangers associated with bird droppings.

Are your services guaranteed?

Yes, all our services are 100% guaranteed. This means if any birds ever get past our bird-proof mesh, we will come back out to correct the issue at no extra charge.

Will this void my solar system's warranty?

No, our bird-proofing materials will not void any warranties associated with your solar system. We secure our bird proof mesh with hardware that hooks underneath your panels so that no drilling or other physical changes are made to the solar panels.

How much does this cost?

Pricing depends on a couple factors, mainly if your home has 1 or 2 stories and the amount of separated solar arrays on the roof.
